Hosoya Pyro-Engineering Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to ¥4.84 per share, a decline of 36.7% from ¥7.64 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥19.4 million, a decline of 36.7% from ¥30.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 8.4% from 11.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 10.9% year over year to ¥230.0 million from ¥258.0 million, and total operating expenses decreased 5.3% year over year to ¥198.0 million from ¥209.0 million.
Reported net income fell 23.3% from the prior-year period to ¥23.0 million, or ¥5.74 per share, from ¥30.0 million, or ¥7.49 per share.
As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
