CenturyLink Inc. said late Dec. 28 that all of its services affected by a two-day nationwide network outage are now back up, including 911 emergency phone services.
"All consumer services impacted by this event, including voice and 911, have been restored. Any latency issues will clear in the next few hours," CenturyLink said on Twitter. The company is the second-largest U.S. communications provider to global enterprise customers.
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai said Dec. 28 that his agency will launch an investigation into the "unacceptable" Dec. 27-28 service disruption.
