Natura Cosméticos S.A. said its normalized net income for the third quarter came to 21 Brazilian centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 36 centavos per share.
EPS declined 36.3% year over year from 33 centavos.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 91.7 million reais, a decline of 36.3% from 143.9 million reais in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 3.9% from 7.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to 1.90 billion reais from 2.00 billion reais, and total operating expenses came to 1.65 billion reais, compared with 1.66 billion reais in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income declined 44.6% on an annual basis to 73.1 million reais, or 17 centavos per share, from 131.8 million reais, or 31 centavos per share.
As of Oct. 26, US$1 was equivalent to 3.12 reais.
