Citi names EMEA head of operations

NYSE-listed Citigroup Inc. named David Livingstone head of operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with regulatory approval from the Bank of England pending, the Financial Times reported, citing a memo.

Succeeding Jim Cowles, who will stay on for a brief period to ensure a smooth transition, Livingstone most recently served as the bank's chief country officer for his native country Australia and New Zealand, the Jan. 17 report noted. He will reportedly relocate to London in February.

Additionally, Barbara Desoer will retire as CEO of Citibank NA in April, and will be replaced by COO Carey Lathrop, according to the memo.
