MSD Capital completes sale of 6 wind farms in New York to Carlyle Group

MSD Capital LP on Dec. 11 completed the sale of six wind farms with a combined capacity of 612 MW to funds managed or advised by Carlyle Group LP.

Under the transaction, co-owners MSD Capital and Paragon Noble LLC sold all of their class B managing and class A nonvoting stakes in Noble Environmental Power 2006 Hold Co. LLC and Noble Environmental Power 2008 Hold Co. LLC to Zephyr Wind Energy LLC. Zephyr Wind Energy is ultimately owned by funds managed by Carlyle Group.

Noble Environmental Power 2006 owns the 100.5-MW Noble Bliss, 100.5-MW Noble Clinton and 81-MW Noble Ellenburg wind farms. Noble Environmental Power 2008 owns the 97.5-MW Altona, 106.5-MW Noble Chateaugay and 126-MW Noble Wethersfield wind facilities. All of the facilities are in New York, and their output is sold into the New York ISO market.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the deal on Oct. 19. (FERC docket EC18-150)
