Renault SA on Oct. 9 launched Renault MAI, or Mobility as an Industry, a subsidiary dedicated to new mobility services.
The French carmaker said MAI will unify the group's mobility activities under one entity. It will simplify decision making and aid in forming new partnerships with other mobility industry players.
"Increasingly, the market is being structured according to the habits of consumers who are less interested in owning a vehicle than in a multimodal, innovative, connected and more ecological offer adapted to the diversity of their needs," Renault said.
The company named Arnaud Molinié as MAI managing director and said he will be responsible for developing existing assets, accelerating market penetration and forming new partnerships with all private and public players.
