Cairngorm Capital buys Chandlers Building Supplies

Private investment firm Cairngorm Capital Partners LLP closed the acquisition of Chandlers Building Supplies Ltd.

The private equity firm will merge its existing builders' merchants brands, Parker Building Supplies Ltd., Stamco and Fairalls with the newly acquired business.

The new, enlarged company, which will be part of a holding company known as the Independent Builders' Merchant Group, has 37 branches operating from the Midlands to the South East of the U.K., with combined revenues of £180 million and over 750 employees.

The senior management teams of both companies will merge under the leadership of Chris Maityard, Parker's CEO, to scale the business.

Parker and Cairngorm Capital were advised by PwC, Gowling WLG (legal) and JLT Marsh (insurance). Chandlers was advised by DMH Stallard with respect to legal matters and RSM on financial and tax matters.

Cairngorm Capital Partners focuses on U.K. midmarket growth companies in manufacturing, distribution and services industries.
