Yuasa Funashoku fiscal Q2 profit climbs 5.9% YOY

Yuasa Funashoku Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥73.35 per share, a gain of 6.6% from ¥68.80 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥329.9 million, an increase of 5.9% from ¥311.4 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.3% from 1.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 5.2% on an annual basis to ¥25.55 billion from ¥26.96 billion, and total operating expenses fell 5.2% from the prior-year period to ¥25.11 billion from ¥26.48 billion.

Reported net income fell from the prior-year period to ¥348.0 million, or ¥77.38 per share, from ¥356.0 million, or ¥78.66 per share.
