Hill steps down as Metro Bank chairman earlier than planned

Vernon Hill resigned as Metro Bank PLC's chairman, effective immediately.

Hill was supposed to step down from the role by year-end. The resignation comes ahead of the release of the bank's third-quarter results.

Metro Bank said Hill agreed to become emeritus chairman. It named Michael Snyder interim chairman until a replacement for Hill is appointed.
