Nan Ya Plastics profit misses consensus by 20.6% in Q3

Nan Ya Plastics Corp. said its normalized net income for the third quarter amounted to NT$1.48 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.87 per share.

EPS climbed 97.9% year over year from 75 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$11.76 billion, an increase of 97.9% from NT$5.94 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 15.1% from 8.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 13.0% on an annual basis to NT$77.86 billion from NT$68.90 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.6% year over year to NT$70.17 billion from NT$66.46 billion.

Reported net income rose 97.7% year over year to NT$16.66 billion, or NT$2.10 per share, from NT$8.43 billion, or NT$1.06 per share.

As of Nov. 13, US$1 was equivalent to NT$30.19.
