Alcentra Capital board slashes dividend

Alcentra Capital Corp.'s board approved a dividend of 18 cents per share for the first quarter, down from the previous payout of 25 cents.

The dividend is payable April 4 to shareholders of record as of March 30.

The company also reported net investment income of $4.0 million, or 28 cents per share, in the fourth quarter of 2017, down from $6.1 million, or 45 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

The S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate for the last three months of 2017 was 25 cents, with five analysts reporting.

For full year 2017, net investment income came in at $18.3 million, or $1.32 per share, compared to $22.4 million, or $1.66 per share, in 2016.
