Former UK chancellor to take adviser role at BlackRock

George Osborne is joining BlackRock Inc. as an adviser, the Financial Times reported, citing a company statement.

In his new role, the former U.K. chancellor is expected to offer his views on European politics and policy, and Chinese economic reform. He will not, however, lobby the British government.

Osborne will serve as a part-time senior adviser at the BlackRock Investment Institute from February, the FT reported.
