Pioneer Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to a loss of ¥3.45 per share, compared with a loss of 40 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥1.27 billion, compared with a loss of ¥146.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 0.9% from negative 0.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 8.0% year over year to ¥136.43 billion from ¥126.30 billion, and total operating expenses grew 9.1% on an annual basis to ¥134.77 billion from ¥123.54 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥2.30 billion, or a loss of ¥6.27 per share, compared to a loss of ¥1.75 billion, or a loss of ¥4.76 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
