Macquarie to acquire 400-MW German offshore wind farm

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Inc. has agreed to acquire the 400-MW BARD Offshore 1 wind farm in Germany from Unicredit for undisclosed terms.

A Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5-led consortium will gain control of the wind farm through the acquisition of its direct owner Ocean Breeze Energy GmbH & Co. KG, according to an Aug.7 news release.

BARD Offshore 1 is located in the North Sea, about 100 kilometers off the coast of northwestern Germany. It started operating in 2013.
