New Jersey Resources unit extends open season for Adelphia Gateway

New Jersey Resources Corp. pipeline subsidiary Adelphia Gateway LLC extended its open season for firm transportation services until 3 p.m. ET on Dec. 8, according to a Nov. 22 news release.

The open season was originally scheduled to close Nov. 20 but was extended in response to customer requests for an interconnect with Columbia Gas Transmission in the Marcus Hook area and due to time constraints presented by the Thanksgiving holiday.

Adelphia Gateway will operate an 84-mile pipeline system in southeastern Pennsylvania, with the southern 50-mile section of the line to be converted to deliver up to 250,000 Dth/d of natural gas to the Greater Philadelphia region. The remaining 34 miles of the pipeline were repurposed in 1996 to carry natural gas from Bucks County, Pa., to Northampton County, Pa. The pipeline runs from Northampton County to Marcus Hook in Delaware County, Pa., with interconnections with Texas Eastern Transmission LLC in Bucks County and Columbia Gas Transmission LLC in Northampton County.

The project is expected to come into service in late 2018.
