Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd.'s group executive for Australia, Fred Ohlsson, will be leaving his role to take a prolonged unpaid career-break.

Ohlsson will be returning to his native country Sweden with his family, the Australian bank said Dec. 13.

Further, ANZ said it appointed Mark Hand acting group executive for Australia. Hand currently serves as the bank's group executive of business and private banking. Meanwhile, the bank said it will look at the current structure of its Australian division.

The changes will take effect Dec. 29, subject to regulatory requirements.
