Aura Minerals Inc. completed its previously announced acquisition of Rio Novo Gold Inc. in an all-share deal, according to a March 2 release.
Under the terms, Rio Novo shareholders will receive 0.053 of an Aura share for every share held.
Shareholders of both companies approved the merger in separate special meetings held Feb. 22. Meanwhile, the process of delisting Rio Novo shares from the TSX Venture Exchange will be completed by March 6.
Aura's assets include gold mines in Brazil and Honduras and a copper-gold mine in Mexico that is under care and maintenance. With the merger's completion, the company now has two more gold projects in Brazil, Almas and Matupa, as well as the Tolda Fria gold property in Colombia.
