Casio Computer fiscal Q3 profit climbs 53.4% YOY

Casio Computer Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥25.53 per share, an increase of 54.6% from ¥16.51 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥6.81 billion, an increase of 53.4% from ¥4.44 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 8.0% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 5.8% on an annual basis to ¥85.06 billion from ¥80.41 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥74.84 billion from ¥73.65 billion.

Reported net income grew 54.4% year over year to ¥7.28 billion, or ¥27.31 per share, from ¥4.71 billion, or ¥17.53 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
