Mitsui Fudosan signs deal to open 2nd hotel in Taiwan

Japanese diversified property developer Mitsui Fudosan Co. Ltd. signed an agreement with King Yu-Tai Co. Ltd. to open its second hotel in Taiwan, following the Zhongxiao Xinsheng Hotel, which is slated to open in 2020.

Under the deal, King Yu-tai will develop the property in Taipei's Zhongzeng District. Mitsui Fudosan will lease part of the building and operate the floors as a premium-scale hotel, tentatively called Zhongshan Zhongxiao Hotel.

The proposed building will sit on a 40,900-square-foot site and will stand 18 floors high, with five levels below ground. The above-ground portion of the building will span 312,000 square feet of gross floor area and will house approximately 350 guest rooms. The hotel will occupy the first floor and the sixth to 18th floors of the building, which is scheduled to open its doors in 2022.

Meanwhile, Mitsui Fudosan's first hotel in the republic will be housed in a 17-floor building with a total above-ground floor area of about 150,695 square feet. About 300 guestrooms will be housed in the property.
