Banco do Brasil taps VP of agribusiness

Francisco Basílio will become Banco do Brasil SA's vice president of agribusiness, Valor Econômico reported, citing the bank's incoming president, Rubem Novaes.

Novaes said he discussed Basílio's appointment in a meeting with future economic and agriculture ministers Paulo Guedes and Tereza Cristina, respectively.

Basílio helped in advising the next agriculture head during the transition of the government, Valor said.

Novaes earlier said he will soon name vice presidents for Banco do Brasil, noting that economist Carlos Hamilton will be one of the appointees, while Marcelo Labuto, the current president, will stay with the bank.
