Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives to build 300-MW Kan. wind project

Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives Inc. on Aug. 2 announced a new wind energy project award for the construction of the Neosho Ridge Wind Project in Neosho County, Kan. Project work is scheduled to begin in August, and completion is slated for the fourth quarter of 2020.

The 300-MW project is expected to provide enough energy to power over 100,000 homes. Power generated from the turbines will be delivered into the Kansas electrical grid, according to a news release.

After the company receives full notice to proceed, the company's work will include wind turbine installation, public road maintenance, turbine access roads and building a high-voltage project substation and transmission line connecting to the electrical grid.

Apex Clean Energy Inc. is the lead developer on the project.
