* National Grid plc subsidiary Narragansett Electric Co. issued a request for power supply proposals for its industrial, commercial and residential customers in Rhode Island. Interested bidders should submit their respondent proposal information by 5 p.m. ET on March 23.

* NorthWestern Corp.'s chief told investment analysts the company cancelled an all-source request for proposals Feb. 7, after Montana regulators shortened the time period for utilities to show benefits of acquiring new resources.
* Proposals for new renewable energy facilities to supply power to Xcel Energy Inc. subsidiary Public Service Co. of Colorado, including many projects with battery storage, remain highly competitive despite the tandem headwinds of federal tax reform and President Donald Trump's solar trade tariffs, the utility disclosed in a March 1 regulatory filing.
* Project developers responded to NV Energy Inc.'s request for proposals with more than 100 renewable energy project proposals, including more than 30 bids offering battery storage.
Deadline
* Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative Inc. launched a reverse request for proposals to sell its 5.86% undivided ownership interest in the Dolet Hills power plant, in DeSoto Parish, La. Interested bidders may submit a standard response forms by March 16.
Awards
* New York has awarded $1.4 billion to 26 new large-scale renewable energy projects, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced March 9. The projects are sparked by a 2017 solicitation to help meet the state's requirement of 50% renewables by 2030.
* Hydro-Québec Distribution has chosen Valeco Énergie Québec Inc.'s planned facility as the winning proposal for the purchase of wind power produced in Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.
Looking forward
* Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. and Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. plan to seek proposals for up to 440 MW of around-the-clock energy supply in zone J and zone G of the New York ISO. The Consolidated Edison Inc. subsidiaries will conduct the request for proposals on May 8.
* The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities directed its staff to implement Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order on offshore wind and prepare a solicitation for the first 1,100 MW of capacity.
* During an earnings conference call, Portland General Electric Co. President and CEO Maria Pope said
* The California ISO should open up a 230-kV transmission project in the eastern part of Pacific Gas and Electric Co.'s service territory to competitive solicitation, the city of Lodi, Calif., and a NextEra Energy Inc. subsidiary said.
* Duke Energy Corp. has received regulatory approval to begin the bidding process in its first "tranche" of a multistep plan to procure nearly 2,700 MW of new renewable energy resources, namely solar, in North Carolina within the next few years.
