Nissan US sales up 0.1% YOY in May

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. on June 3 reported a 0.1% year-over-year increase in U.S. auto sales for May.

This follows a 9% year-over-year increase in April sales.

The company sold 131,983 units in May, up from 131,832 units sold in the same month a year ago.

Nissan group total truck sales rose 0.9% year over year to 74,859 vehicles. The automaker's car sales, however, slipped 0.9% year over year to 57,124 units.

Sales of Nissan's Leaf electric vehicles totaled 1,216 units in May, down 22.8% from 1,576 units sold in the year-ago period.
