French utility Engie appoints new board chairman

French electric utility Engie SA appointed independent administrator Jean-Pierre Clamadieu as new chairman of its board of directors.

Clamadieu succeeds Gérard Mestrallet, whose term has expired. The company's board appointed Mestrallet as chairman of honour of the group, according to a May 18 release.

Ross McInnes was appointed as an independent administrator. Ross also became a member of the audit committee following the resignation of Stéphane Pallez. Meanwhile, Christophe Agogué succeeded Olivier Marquer, whose term as employee administrator for the "engineers, managers and equivalent college" expired.

Agogué also was appointed as member of the ethics, environment and sustainable development committee.
