Alliant Energy to change leadership team after senior executive's retirement

Alliant Energy Corp. described changes to its executive team following Douglas Kopp announcing his intent to retire as president of Interstate Power & Light Co. and senior vice president of the parent company.

Kopp's retirement is set for the first half of 2019, Alliant said in a Dec. 13 news release.

The following appointments will take effect Jan. 1, 2019.

John Larsen will assume the role of president and COO of Alliant Energy and CEO of utility subsidiaries IPL and Wisconsin Power and Light Co.

He will oversee the utility operations of the parent company. He was appointed as president of Alliant Energy in 2018 and served as senior vice president of the company from February 2014 to December 2017. He has also served as president of WPL since 2010.

Terry Kouba will replace Kopp as president of IPL. Kouba has served as vice president of generation operations for the company since 2014 and director of generation operations since 2011.

David de Leon will replace Larsen as president of Wisconsin Power and Light. De Leon has served as vice president of operation for the company since 2017, director of generation construction since 2016 and director of construction since 2011.
