Axa XL promoted Ankur Chokshi to head of excess and surplus primary casualty and brokerage and binding authority in the U.S.

Chokshi assumed leadership of Axa XL's binding authority and brokerage insurance operation from Karl Fischbach, who continues to serve as a wholesale broker, programs and binding relationship leader.

Additionally, Kimberly Smid will lead Axa's excess casualty excess and surplus business. She served as an excess and surplus underwriting manager and led the national excess casualty team at QBE Insurance Group Ltd.

Cheryl-Ann Lister will retire from AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd.'s board, effective Dec. 31.


Willis Towers Watson PLC named Tom Rowley senior vice president of North American property and Matt Harvey senior vice president of international property, the Insurance Journal reported.

Rowley is a former senior executive at Brit Insurance, while Harvey was previously responsible for the design and placement of international property risks at Aon.


Mark Marshall assumed the managing director role at RSA Insurance Group PLC's Insurance Corp. of the Channel Islands Ltd.

Marshall was previously in charge of leading RSA Group's response to the U.K.'s departure from the European Union.


RFIB Group Ltd appointed Kevin Stratton managing director of its specialty business, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

He most recently served as global head of accident, life and health at Willis Re.
