Marifil Mines starts lithium exploration in Argentina with property buy

Marifil Mines Ltd. on May 9 announced the launch of its lithium exploration program with the acquisition of two brine properties in Argentina's Catamarca province. Financial details were not disclosed.

The properties total 6,528 hectares on the Puna plateau and are prospective for lithium salts, potash and borates. The project area is approximately 100 kilometers south of FMC Corp.'s Salar del Hombre Muerto lithium brine production operation.

The group continues talks to acquire more lithium projects in the area.
