S&P affirms Moody's Corp. after settlement with DOJ, states

S&P Global Ratings affirmed the corporate credit rating of Moody's Corp. at BBB+ with a stable outlook after the company announced a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice and certain U.S. states.

The affirmation and the stable outlook are based on S&P's view that the settlement will resolve any material litigation risk and business uncertainty resulting from Moody's rating of residential mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations prior to 2009.
