Dry Cell & Storage Battery Q1 profit climbs 74.6% YOY

Dry Cell & Storage Battery JSC said its first-quarter normalized net income came to 366.10 dong per share, an increase of 74.4% from 209.87 dong per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 16.82 billion dong, a gain of 74.6% from 9.63 billion dong in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.4% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 18.4% year over year to 491.24 billion dong from 414.80 billion dong, and total operating expenses climbed 16.3% year over year to 461.98 billion dong from 397.24 billion dong.

Reported net income rose 62.6% year over year to 19.55 billion dong, or 425.51 dong per share, from 12.02 billion dong, or 261.92 dong per share.

As of April 22, US$1 was equivalent to 21,586 dong.
