Ameren's Q2'19 results fall short of estimates

Ameren Corp. on Aug. 2 posted second-quarter 2019 net income attributable to common shareholders of $179 million, or 72 cents per share, down from $239 million, or 97 cents per share, in the prior-year period.

The S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus normalized EPS estimate for the quarter was 77 cents.

Operating revenues were $1.38 billion in the second quarter, down from $1.56 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2018.

Ameren reported operating income of $280 million, a decline from $385 million in the year-ago quarter.

The utility affirmed 2019 earnings guidance to between $3.15 per share and $3.35 per share.
