China Vanke's May sales down YOY

China Vanke Co. Ltd.'s contracted sales for May amounted to 35.89 billion yuan, down year over year from 36.38 billion yuan.

The May sales translate to sold area of 2,420,000 square meters. For the five-month period ended May 31, meanwhile, the company secured total sales area of 15,201,000 square meters for 228.05 billion yuan.

China Vanke also said it acquired nine new projects in May: the Guangzhou Fish Fry Farm and the Changlingju projects in Guangzhou; the Houjie Yuanxin Second Road project in Dongguan City; the Jiangtou 183 Project in Nanchang City; the Qinglong Lake Project in Beijing; the Cijian Village 39 Mu project in Chongqing; the Yunshang Village project in Guiyang; and the Xinglong Lake 68 Mu and the Xinglong Lake 52 Mu projects in Chengdu.

Three logistics property projects were also acquired during the month, namely the South Lake project in Jiaxing, the Fengxi Project in Xi'an and the Huangpu Project in Zhongshan.

As of June 2, US$1 was equivalent to 6.82 Chinese yuan.
