SECOM fiscal Q4 profit climbs YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥94.56 per share, a gain from ¥91.66 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥20.64 billion, a gain from ¥20.01 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 8.6% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 5.9% on an annual basis to ¥241.07 billion from ¥227.58 billion, and total operating expenses grew 7.5% year over year to ¥206.62 billion from ¥192.15 billion.

Reported net income fell 8.5% year over year to ¥15.70 billion, or ¥71.94 per share, from ¥17.15 billion, or ¥78.59 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥358.03 per share, compared EPS of ¥330.83 in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥78.14 billion, a gain from ¥72.21 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew year over year to ¥840.72 billion from ¥822.23 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥717.47 billion from ¥701.95 billion.

The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to ¥75.39 billion, or ¥345.41 per share, in the full year, from ¥69.88 billion, or ¥320.14 per share.

As of June 25, US$1 was equivalent to ¥123.71.
