Macquarie's Green Investment Group in first Norwegian wind play

Macquarie Group Ltd.'s Green Investment Group Ltd. has acquired the 47-MW Tysvær onshore wind project in Norway from Spanish Power.

The company said the project, currently in the final stages of development, will be Green Investment Group's first in the Norwegian market.

Outline planning consent was received in July 2018, with final permits expected in October. The project is currently under consideration by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate.

Once consented, Tysvær will be equipped with 11, 4.3-MW turbines from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA.

Sweden's NV Nordisk Vindkraft AB will serve as construction manager and Norway's Risa AS will build infrastructure including roads, turbine foundations and installing electric cables.
