Fire at NuStar petrochemical facility contained; operations halted

NuStar Energy LP halted operations at its Selby petrochemical storage terminal in California following an Oct. 15 fire that destroyed two tanks partially filled with ethanol.

"All operations have been suspended and we have halted all shipments of product into and out of the facility," a NuStar representative said in an emailed statement Oct. 15.

Contra Costa County fire officials tweeted late in the day that the fire, which spread to nearby vegetation and burned 15 acres, had been contained.

NuStar's statement said all personnel at the facility were safe and accounted for.
