Home improvement retailer Bunnings Warehouse, a unit of diversified Australian company Wesfarmers Ltd., opened its first warehouse store in the U.K. on Feb. 2 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire in England.
The store has 67,000 square feet of space and was built over an earlier Homebase store, the British peer that Bunnings bought for £340 million in February 2016.
A second Bunnings store in St. Albans will open in April, and the home improvement retailer plans to have at least four pilots up and running by the summer.
The retailer also said it will open similar stores by investing up to £500 million in the U.K. and Ireland over the next three to five years.
