Bricks and mortar: Spencer Savings Bank in NJ to close 1 branch, open another

Mid-Atlantic

Butler, Pa.-based NexTier Bank NA opened a loan production office at 4231 Trindle Road in Camp Hill, Pa. The NexTier Inc. unit intends to seek regulatory approval to open a branch office at the location later this year, according to a press release.

The New York State Department of Financial Services authorized Clearfield, Pa.-based CNB Bank's application to open and occupy a branch at 676 72nd St. in Niagara Falls, N.Y., according to the state banking regulator's weekly banking bulletin.

CNB Financial Corp. is the bank's parent company.

Elmwood Park, N.J.-based Spencer Savings Bank SLA intends to close its branch at 329 N. Ave. in Garwood, N.J., on or about July 31.

The bank also seeks to open a branch at 240-244 N. Ave. W. in Westfield, N.J., according to the New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance's depository application activity report.

Midwest

Bowman, N.D.-based Dakota Western Bank seeks approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis for a branch facility at 24 Main Ave. S, in Regent, N.D., according to a Federal Reserve release.

Dakota Western Bankshares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

Cincinnati-based Union Savings Bank secured the approval of the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Financial Institutions to open a banking office at 1160 Kemper Meadow Drive in Cincinnati, according to the state banking regulator's January report.

Archbold, Ohio-based Farmers & Merchants State Bank, a unit of Farmers & Merchants Bancorp Inc., closed its banking office at 620 S. Clyde's Way in Archbold, according to the state banking regulator's January report.

Southeast

Batesville, Ark.-based Citizens Bank seeks approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for a full-service branch at 3971 W. Wedington Drive in Fayetteville, Ark.

Citizens Bancshares of Batesville Inc. is the bank's parent company.

First Capital Bancshares Inc. which is moving its headquarters to Charleston, S.C., from Laurinburg, N.C. — plans to open an office in downtown Charleston, S.C., this spring, American Banker reports, citing Harvey Glick, who was recently named chairman of First Capital.

First Capital Bank is a subsidiary of the company.

Virginia National Bank of Charlottesville, a subsidiary of Virginia National Bankshares Corp., seeks to open a mobile messenger service at 1580 Seminole Trail in Charlottesville, according to the OCC's website.

Douglas, Ga.-based First National Bank of Coffee County, a unit of FNC Bancorp Inc., secured the OCC's approval to open a branch at 2800 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Suite 100 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Southwest

Texas Regional Bank of Harlingen, a unit of Texas State Bankshares Inc., secured approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas to establish a branch at 333 E. Highway 290 in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Dallas-based Texas Capital Bank NA, a subsidiary of Texas Capital Bancshares Inc., opened a full-service banking center in Trinity Groves, a neighborhood in West Dallas, according to a press release.

Burkburnett, Texas-based First Bank, a subsidiary of First Burkburnett Bancshares Inc., seeks to close its branch at 2530 Eldorado Parkway in McKinney, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Banking's website.

AccessBank Texas of Denton, a unit of Access Bancorp Inc., obtained the state banking regulator's approval to open a branch at 15960 Championship Parkway in Fort Worth, Texas.

City National Bank and Trust Co. of Lawton Oklahoma, a unit of JRMB II Inc., opened a drive-in facility at 7050 S. Yale Ave. in Tulsa, Okla., according to the OCC''s website.

Liberty, Texas-based First Liberty National Bank, a subsidiary of First Liberty National Bancshares Inc., seeks to open a branch at 15113 Merritt Way in Beaumont, Texas, according to the OCC's website.

Houston-based Golden Bank NA is seeking the OCC's approval to open a branch at 105 E. Valley Blvd. in Alhambra, Calif.

Waxahachie, Texas-based Citizens National Bank of Texas, a unit of First Citizens Bancshares Inc., is seeking the OCC's approval to open a branch at 2001 Bates Drive in Waxahachie.
