3D Systems Corp. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of 9 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 5 cents per share.
The per-share loss narrowed 18.0% year over year from 11 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of $10.4 million, compared with a loss of $12.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 6.8% from negative 7.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 5.1% year over year to $152.6 million from $160.7 million, and total operating expenses decreased 5.0% year over year to $169.3 million from $178.2 million.
Reported net income totaled a loss of $17.8 million, or a loss of 16 cents per share, compared to a loss of $13.2 million, or a loss of 12 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
