Amazon.com Inc. plans to gradually change its Prime Pantry service to a $5-a-month subscription model, Bloomberg reported March 9, citing a company spokeswoman.
Prime Pantry currently lets Amazon Prime members shop for groceries and household products at $6 per box, but the e-commerce giant reportedly wants to persuade members to commit to a subscription service that will charge $5 each month. Members who choose not to subscribe will pay $8 per box, the report said.
Amazon is looking to roll out the new Prime Pantry model in different U.S. locations throughout 2018, Bloomberg added.
