Sugi Holdings Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 came to ¥59.25 per share, compared with ¥59.28 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.75 billion, compared with ¥3.75 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 3.9% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased year over year to ¥96.67 billion from ¥93.99 billion, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to ¥91.01 billion from ¥88.23 billion.
Reported net income increased 31.9% year over year to ¥3.90 billion, or ¥61.58 per share, from ¥2.96 billion, or ¥46.70 per share.
As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
