American Resources books higher net loss, lower revenue in Q1'19

American Resources Corp. reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of $10.1 million, or 48 cents per share, for the first quarter, compared with a loss of $2.8 million, or $2.96 per share, in the prior-year period.

Revenue totaled $7.0 million, compared with $7.3 million in the same quarter a year earlier, according to a May 16 filing.

The company reported coal sales and processing expenses of $6.6 million in the period, an increase from $5.5 million the year before. Total operating expenses came in at $16.9 million in the quarter, increasing from $9.8 million in 2018.
