Tama Home fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Tama Home Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to ¥7.89 per share, a decrease of 79.9% from ¥39.22 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥237.1 million, a decline of 79.9% from ¥1.18 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 0.6% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 11.6% year over year to ¥38.84 billion from ¥43.95 billion, and total operating expenses fell 8.5% year over year to ¥38.53 billion from ¥42.09 billion.

Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥14.0 million, or a loss of 47 sen per share, compared to income of ¥1.01 billion, or ¥33.70 per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
