China's Want Want appoints 2 independent directors

Packaged food and drinks maker Want Want China Holdings Ltd. appointed Kwok Ming Lee and Tien-Jen Hsieh as independent nonexecutive directors, effective June 6.

Lee and Hsieh will replace Chien Wen-Guey and Kao Ruey-Bin, who will both retire at the conclusion of the company's annual meeting July 25.

Lee is an independent nonexecutive director at Lianhua Supermarket Holdings Co. Ltd., while Hsieh is an independent director at Taiwan's Union Insurance Co. Ltd. and China Television Co. Ltd.

Want Want said Hsieh is an associate of Eng-Meng Tsai, the company's chairman and CEO.
