BMO appoints Citigroup exec to head new financial crimes unit

Bank of Montreal will create a Financial Crimes Unit that will consolidate the bank's existing cybersecurity, fraud and physical security capabilities into one unit, headed by Larry Zelvin.

Zelvin joins BMO on Jan. 14 from Citigroup Inc., where he worked as managing director and global head for cybersecurity.

The Financial Crimes Unit will work with BMO's Anti-Money Laundering unit, which is now being headed by Herbert Mazariegos.
