EdgeCore Internet Real Estate LLC is planning to construct a $1 billion 900,000-square-foot data center facility on 33 acres at Shiloh Road and Bush Turnpike in Richardson, Texas, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Details filed with the city show plans to develop two office and data center buildings, each encompassing 358,000 square feet, at the site. Officials from Richardson are scheduled to vote on the plan in the week of March 19, the publication added.
Construction of the first building within the data center campus is expected to start in the summer, according to a separate report from the Denver Business Journal.
Mount Elbert Capital Partners, GIC and OPTrust formed EdgeCore with the aim to develop, buy and operate data centers across North America. The entity is powered by $800 million in initial equity, which it will use to spend $2 billion for center development and investment.
