BBVA Chile issues bonds via Dutch auction

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Chile SA on Jan. 19 placed bonds worth 2.0 million UF, or about 55.41 billion Chilean pesos, via a Dutch auction.

The AA/AA+-rated bond has a term of 5.5 years and yields at an average interest rate of 1.95%.

A UF, or unidad de fomento, is Chile's inflation-indexed unit and was worth 26,817.16 Chilean pesos as of Jan. 22, according to data from Banco Central de Chile.

As of Jan. 19, US$1 was equivalent to 608.23 Chilean pesos.
