China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. achieved commercial production July 1 in series two of the second expansion phase at its Jiama copper-molybdenum-gold mine in China.
The development brings the entire phase-two expansion project into commercial production ahead of schedule as the milestone was previously anticipated by mid-2019, according to a July 3 statement.
Series one of the second expansion phase at Jiama achieved commercial production at the end of 2017 to increase processing capacity by 22,000 tonnes per day.
The company said it was able to accelerate development and commissioning work, with the ramp-up to full design capacity ongoing. The full expansion will increase throughput at Jiama to 50,000 t/d from 28,000 t/d.
