New Look Vision Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 27 came to 28 Canadian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 35 cents per share.
EPS climbed 19.7% year over year from 24 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was C$3.9 million, an increase of 26.4% from C$3.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 8.3% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 33.2% on an annual basis to C$46.8 million from C$35.1 million, and total operating expenses grew 35.5% year over year to C$39.6 million from C$29.2 million.
Reported net income increased 40.8% year over year to C$4.4 million, or 32 cents per share, from C$3.1 million, or 24 cents per share.
