Greensmith Energy completes 2 Texas energy storage systems

Greensmith Energy Management Systems Inc. recently completed the two 9.9-MW Texas Waves energy storage systems.

The facilities delivered short-term energy to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas during the recent cold snap in the state, according to a Feb 6. news release. The facilities were installed at E.ON Climate & Renewables North America LLC's 249-MW Pyron and 197-MW Inadale wind farms near Roscoe, Texas.

Greensmith Energy is a subsidiary of Wärtsilä Corp., while E.ON Climate & Renewables North America is a subsidiary of E.ON SE.
