Ringkjøbing Landbobank merger with Nordjyske Bank gets antitrust approval

The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority approved the merger agreement between Ringkjøbing Landbobank A/S and Nordjyske Bank A/S.

The merger still requires authorization by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and must be adopted at the June 7 extraordinary general meetings of both banks.

In April, the two Danish lenders said their boards entered into a merger agreement with the purpose of creating "an even stronger Jutland bank."
