Honda US February sales slip by 5.04% YOY

Honda Motor Co. Ltd.'s U.S. sales fell 5.04% in February from February 2017 as Honda car sales and Acura truck sales declined 6.91% and 6.17%, respectively.

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. sold a total of 115,557 units in February 2018, compared to 121,686 units in February 2017.

Total import car sales fell 38.61% and total domestic truck sales slipped by 4.60% year over year. Total domestic truck sales accounted for 52.83% of the total for the month.

Honda's HR-V registered a new benchmark for February as its sales rose 6.88% year over year to 6,791 units, while sales of the Pilot gained 48.86% to 12,056 units in the month.

Acura's NSX sales were down 63.04% in February to 17 units against 46 units a year ago, whereas sales of the RLX/RL climbed 46.60% to 151 units.

Meanwhile, 220,099 vehicles were sold in the 12 months to February, down from 228,066 vehicles in the 12 months to February 2017.
